PT Goes to NYC
A quick guide to everything Matt and Irene love most about New York!
Matt and Irene were in New York for a bit of a whirlwind trip last week. But in between meetings, photoshoots and a very fun dinner to welcome our Creative Director Joyce Lee (yay!), of course they found time to visit a few of their favorite spots. From the best bowl of matzoh ball soup to the candy you’ll want to give anyone with a sweet tooth, here are their can’t-miss recs.
Raku
“Every trip to New York begins with lunch at Raku. Their udon is everything we want once we’ve landed—light, delicious, comforting, nourishing. It’s the perfect simple meal to start our visit off on the right foot!”
Russ & Daughters
“Another cozy spot, Russ & Daughters is truly a family tradition for us. We’ve been coming for years—it’s a great place to bring our kids and have a meal you can only get in New York. We can’t resist our usual lineup—bialys, matzoh ball soup and the classic platter—on this trip we tried, and already are craving, their delicious cherry shrub!”
Big Night
“Joyce recommended we stop by their West Village location, and we could’ve easily stayed there all day. It’s filled with everything you need—but maybe didn’t know you needed—to throw a last-minute dinner party or wow the hostess with a playful gift (we grabbed a few of these disco sponges with that in mind). The space is so joyful and well curated, everything they have can instantly elevate even the simplest meal.”
I Sodi
“This might be a controversial take, but their famous lasagna isn’t part of our usual order! We love their fresh salads and pappardelle al Limone, and we adore that magical backyard–luckily we had great weather and were able to enjoy it before winter gets here.”
BonBon
“We (but really Irene) have a major soft spot (pun intended) for gummy candy, and no one does it better than this Swedish spot. The flavors, the textures, the cute little pink bag they give you to make your perfect mix (which is a great thank-you gift, fyi), it’s the only way to finish a trip to New York for us.
